She has said that she couldnt hear herself at most GD preformances. That might explain the not quite there singing she did at times ( or maybe she was just drunk?). I have a recent Donna concert somewhere, In that she sounds wonderful.

Didn't she say they didn't give her a monitor or something? But then that does mean that, on the shows where she's good, they DID give her a monitor? Or what? It doesn't quite make sense. Maybe she just sometimes sang well in spite of not being able to hear herself ... like riding a bicycle ... and sometimes she just couldn't find that invisible bicycle. Who knows.

Lots of folks here would question the wisdom of giving her a mic. I read somewhere the soundguys would sometimes cut her mic off on really bad nights.
